Japanese consumer electronics manufacturer Sony recently launched two new smartphones in India- the Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus. The devices, which will be manufactured in India, feature almost identical specifications and are directed at the booming mid-range segment of the smartphone market.

The Xperia R1 and R1 Plus come with Android Nougat out of the box, with Sony promising an update to Android Oreo in the future. The smartphones are currently available for pre-order on Amazon priced at ₹12,990 and ₹14,990 respectively. The devices will officially go on sale starting November 10 and will be available on Amazon, Flipkart, and all Sony Centers across the country.
