Google Has Fixed Android 8.1 Installation Bug

After a number of users reported that updating their smartphones to the latest Android 8.1 OTAs ended up with the installation failing, and their phones reverting back to Oreo 8.0, Google has now issued a fix for the update, and has asked the community to try and flash the OTA update now.
In a post of the Google Product Forum, a company representative said, "This issue has been resolved. For those of you that faced the issue and were reverted back to 8.0, you will be offered a new OTA (which is rolling out now)."
